Anne Boyle Brunnquell moved into independent living near one of her sons in Cresskill, NJ. She has a grandson who is interested in attending Skidmore.
Betty Dornheim had a marvelous time at Reunion in June. What impressed her most was touring the huge Zankel Music Center as it was still under construction.
Marj Wendel Keenoy spent three days in Saratoga at our 65th reunion and had
a great time. She and Betty Dornheim were among just five classmates (and two daughters) in attendance; the others were Elayne Abrams Ostrow, Lynn Vandeveer Woythaler and daughter Wendy, and Marj’s roommate Bee Jay Huber Billings and daughter, also named Wendy. Bee Jay says seeing Marj “made the weekend.” She also reports that the meals were first rate, and classmates were driven around campus in golf carts, which was a plus. She hopes more of us will come next time; “it was fun.”
Elma Eden lives in Cedar Street Commons in Livingston, NJ. She enjoys reading books by favorite authors Danielle Steele and Nora Roberts.
Phyllis Emmerich Blair exhibited her watercolor paintings of Sheep Hill landscapes from August to October to benefit the Williamstown (MA) Rural Lands Foundation. She is spending the winter in Boynton Beach, FL.
Marie Louise Flinker Putney had a great reunion with her entire family at a Charleston, SC, beach this past summer. She volunteers at Tricounty Family Ministries, takes care of the library in the children’s hospital playroom, and is involved with church projects.
Mary Badger Jessup’s daughter Jennifer sent word that her mom has recovered nicely from a hip replacement last January. However, when Badge’s dementia worsened the family decided to move her to a nearby nursing home, Ephrata Manor in Ephrata, PA. Despite a bad knee, Badge is happy and healthy and plays the piano to entertain the residents. Although she remembers little beyond Jennifer and her daughter Mariel, they “laugh a lot,” according to Jennifer. Badge does have good long-term memory and named her goldfish “Skiddy” in honor of her alma mater.
In October Ruth Lawrence McComb and Arthur left their home of 61 years and moved to a retirement community outside Poughkeepsie, NY.
Jane Clark Robinson Atkins is legally blind now. She is ever grateful for her years and friends at Skidmore.
Betty Mann Margison is a great-grandmother to Nathan and says, “He is adorable.”
Ilse Senn Epprecht is in her winter home in Providenciales, West Indies. She is looking forward to seeing Bea Edwards ’49, who also has a home there. Ilse says, “When Bea and I meet we click our Skidmore rings.”
Patsy Sullivan Spicer lost her husband, Charlie, this past July, soon after they celebrated their 65th anniversary. Patsy has especially fond memories from when Charlie was one of the engineers chosen to spend a year setting up the Olympics in Seoul, South Korea, and in Barcelona, Spain. The class sends condolences to Patsy.
