She is CEO of Keepers of the Waters, a nonprofit that provides support for others working with similar design principles and processes. From 1991 to 2002, Betsy was involved in the Living Water Gardens project, starting in Chengdu, China. She then directed award-winning projects for the Beijing planning bureau, including a sustainable water plan for the 2008 Olympics, and has inspired such community efforts as the Portland Urban Water Works, the Edwards Aquifer National Park in San Antonio, TX, and a model village project in Sichuan, China, to clean upstream watersheds. Among her current commissions is the Trinity Lakes project in Dallas, TX, to create a 23-mile-long, ecologically sound corridor on the Trinity River. |
