Information Guide
The Academic Information Guide
(AIG), revised and published annually by the Office
of the Dean of Studies in consultation with the
faculty and administration, is a compendium of
Skidmore's academic resources, policies, procedures,
and advising and support services. Used as a companion
to the College Catalogue (the official description
of Skidmore's academic programs and requirements),
the AIG can be especially helpful to students
and their faculty advisors.
The AIG provides a comprehensive
survey of Skidmore's academic resources and services,
elaborates on the policies and procedures presented
more briefly in the Catalogue, and explains the
underlying assumptions of academic policy.
The Dean of Studies Office
welcomes questions on academic matters from faculty,
students, and staff, as well as suggestions for
future editions of the AIG.
