Associate Professor of English appears on WAMC's "Roundtable"

September 11, 2006

WAMC 90.3 FM interviewed Associate Professor of English R. Parthasarathy on Tuesday, May 30.

In the segment, hosted by Paul Elisha, Parthasarathy talks about the importance of the erotic in Sanskrit poetry and why erotic love between humans was used by later bhakti, or devotional poets, as a metaphor for spiritual love between humans and the divine. The conversation concludes with Parthasarathy reading two of his poetry translations and also one of his own poems.
