Skidmore to Host Walkathon for Child Abuse Prevention
The Saratoga Center for the Family, Saratoga County's primary provider of child abuse
prevention and treatment services, will sponsor a walkathon Sunday, April 30, on the
Skidmore campus. The event is designed to raise awareness of the SCFF and its services.
The SCFF serves thousands of children and families annually. It provides a comprehensive
array of services committed to strengthening, empowering, and educating children,
families, and the community to reduce child abuse, neglect, and family dysfunction.
The center helps children and adult survivors of abuse, adults who are challenged
by parenting issues, and children with emotional and behavioral counseling needs.
The walkathon is open to all interested participants. Walkers may obtain a donation
registration sheet at the Case Center desk, second floor. Registration for the walk
itself starts at 9 a.m. April 30 in front of Case Center at the Porter Plaza. The
walk begins at 10 a.m.
