SEC to Present Medeski Martin & Wood

Skidmore's Student Entertainment Company will present "An Evening with Medeski Martin Wood" at 8 p.m. Saturday, April 22, in the Sports and Recreation Center. Tickets, available at Ticketmaster, are $20 per person.

Originally formed in 1991, Medeski Martin Wood have risen from their roots in the New York underground to become one of the best-known improvisational ensembles around, regularly featured at premier jazz clubs and festivals throughout the world.

Combining aspects of avant-garde jazz, funk, and world rhythms, Medeski Martin Wood produces a fresh, organic, and dance-able sound. The Skidmore show will feature the "electric" side of MMW, following their recent run of special all-acoustic shows.
