Manzer, Dinsdale Earn Honors Following NCAA Tournament
Skidmore volleyball senior middle blocker Darryl Manzer (Camden, N.Y./Camden) and
freshman libero Lauren Dinsdale (Harrington Park, N.J./N.V. Regional) have been named
All-Americans by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA).
Manzer, a four-time All-American, was selected to the second team. She was honorable
mention in 2003, 2004, and 2005. Dinsdale was honorable mention.
Manzer is among NCAA Division III national leaders in kills with 5.01 per game and
blocks with 1.16 per game. She has a .381 hitting percentage and is Skidmore's all-time
leader in kills and blocks. Manzer was the Liberty League Performer of the Week seven
times in 2006 and was the Liberty League Performer of the Year for the third straight
time. She was also selected as the New York State Women's Athletic Association Co-Offensive
Player of the Year.
Dinsdale was recently selected as the AVCA New York Region Freshman of the Year.
She finished the season with 906 digs (6.97 per game). One of the region's top defense
players, she was named the Liberty League Rookie of the Week seven times and was the
Liberty League Rookie of the Year.
The pair led the Thoroughbreds to a 23-13 record and an NCAA Division III tournament
berth. Skidmore lost 3-2 to SUNY Cortland in the first round. Earlier in the season,
the Thoroughbreds beat NCAA New York Regional winner Stevens 3-2 to win the Skidmore
Invitational.
