Toshiko Takaezu to lecture July 16

Toshiko Takaezu is an American artist of Japanese ancestry, referred to as one of the finest and best-known ceramists working today. Her long and distinguished career as a teacher and artist began in Hawaii, where she was named a “Living Treasure” in 1987. Toshiko embodies a high ethic and profound aesthetic, tempered by warmth and humor. Acclaimed nationally and internationally, her work is included in many major collections including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; and the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
