Recalls Club President Max
Dale '94, "We met at Momo?s before the game, day turned from
foggy to beautiful (typical San Francisco) just before the game.
It was Bobblehead day and a lot of us got one of four bobbleheads
from the Giant?s 1987 team; Lynn Meyer?s husband, who is in the
picture in the back back row with the Giant?s hat on, was a ?Ball
Dude? (yes that is the actual term) on the first base line where
we were sitting, meaning he was the guy who picked up foul balls
if they were hit down the line ? it?s a VERY prestigious thing
for older Giant?s fans. He was one of several hundred guys who
tried out for it?
Otherwise, at the time Barry Bonds was at 754 lifetime home runs, with Hank Aaron?s record at 755, so Barry could have tied the record and broken it that day; unfortunately he didn?t hit one, but still it was a big deal to be there."
