CDTA offering free bus service for Skidmore students, staff

The Capital District Transit Authority (CDTA) is now offering Skidmore students and employees free bus service to downtown Saratoga and other local destinations.

To take advantage of CTDA's free ride, any member of the Skidmore community need merely show his or her valid college ID. Between 6:40 a.m. and midnight Monday through Saturday, buses run every 20 minutes. Between 8:50 a.m. and 4:50 p.m. Sundays, buses run every 40 minutes. (See schedules below.)

After leaving the Case Center near Porter Plaza, the bus goes downtown via Woodlawn Park, Clinton, Van Dam and then Broadway. At the intersection of Broadway and Lake, passengers may transfer to buses that go to the Amtrak Station and to malls in Wilton. At Spring and Putnam, passengers may transfer to buses that also go to the Amtrak station and to the Wilton malls, but via a less direct route.

The College encourages all students, faculty and staff to take advantage of this new service, which is environmentally very sound and can help to ease downtown traffic and parking issues.
