Tang reopens after threats found to be hoaxes

The Skidmore College Communications Office received three e-mailed bomb threats early this morning that are similar to several found Tuesday and determined by police and the FBI to be hoaxes.

One difference, however, is that the recent e-mails specifically mentioned the Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery. Therefore the College's Emergency Management Team decided to evacuate the building as a precaution.

Saratoga Springs police responded, and sweeps of the building were conducted by police, Campus Safety officers and staff who are familiar with the building. Nothing suspicious has been discovered.

The College Emergency Management Team will be convening shortly to determine a course of action. After conferring with authorities, a determination will be made as to when the Tang will reopen.
