Annual Selected Studio Art Faculty Exhibition

Seven to be featured in annual Selected Art Faculty Exhibition

Seven faculty members will exhibit works in the annual Selected Art Faculty Exhibition, Sept. 27 to Nov. 4 in Skidmore?s Schick Art Gallery.

An opening reception is scheduled form 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, while a gallery talk gets under way at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 17. The reception, exhibition, and gallery talk are free and open to the public.

Small numbers of faculty members in groups continue to rotate for annual faculty exhibitions. Exhibiting in this year's show are the following seven out of 24 studio art faculty members: Evangelos Courpas, John Galt, Deb Hall, David Miller, Doretta Miller,
Victoria Palermo, and Iona Park. These exhibiting artists are able to show a larger number of works than faculty members have exhibited in previous years when more than 20 artists participated in the annual exhibit at one time.

Skidmore studio art faculty members have shown regionally and nationally, and most have gallery affiliations in one or more major cities throughout the country. They are represented in numerous public and private collections, and have been the recipients of significant awards.

The College?s studio art faculty consists of 15 full-time professors and nine part-time visiting assistant professors, representing a wide variety of disciplines including art theory and foundations, ceramics, communication design, drawing and painting, electronic media, fiber arts, metals, photography, printmaking, and sculpture. Skidmore also has nine art history faculty members.
