Celebration Weekend draws record numbers to campus

More than 1,700 visitors enjoyed Celebration Weekend festivities October 12 to 14. Among the highlights were minicollege classes offered by Skidmore faculty, the Fourth Annual Friends of Skidmore Athletics Benefit and Hall of Fame Induction ceremony, President's Hour with President Philip A. Glotzbach, and student music and dance performances held "Under the Big Top."

A showcase of academic and extracurricular life on campus, the weekend's events also featured student-faculty collaborative research, classes open for visitation, student clubs, and presentations by International and Domestic Study, Admissions, Student Life, and Career Services staff. The Frances Young Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery exhibits Molecules That Matter and West African Masquerade exhibits highlighted Skidmore's interdisciplinary focus. Heading off-campus, parents enjoyed tours of the historic Saratoga National Battlefield and the architectural landscape of Saratoga Springs. Alumni and student athletic games rounded out the weekend.
