Hoop teams eye busy weekend before semester break

Skidmore?s women?s basketball team has one home and one away game before the semester ends while the men play their final two games of 2007 at home before the holiday break.

The women, off to a 4-1 start, will play the College of St. Joseph at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, and close out the semester at 2 p.m. Saturday at Amherst College. Sharlyn Harper ?10 is scoring a team-high 15.6 points per game. Dana Leonard ?10 is adding 11.2 points and 5.8 rebounds per game, while Amber Kinsey ?10 is scoring in double figures with 10.0 points per game.

The men are 4-3 with a home game at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, against Westfield State and at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, against the Albany College of Pharmacy. Guard Jeff Altimar ?11 was the Liberty League Rookie of the Week for week ending Dec. 2. He is second on the team in scoring with 10.3 points per game.
