Mary Kathryn Jablonski, assistant to the director of the Schick Art Gallery and poet, was a featured reader Oct. 11 at the Woodstock Poetry Society, Woodstock, N.Y. She read from her recently released chapbook titled To the Husband I Have Not Yet Met, available at the Skidmore Shop or from the publisher http://www.apdbooks@earthlink.net

Sheldon Solomon, professor of psychology and Courtney and Steven Ross Professor of Interdisciplinary Studies, gave presentation titled ?Terror at the Voting Booth? Oct. 15 at the University of North Florida. Greg Bennick, who produced the film Flight from Death: The Quest for Immortality, co-presented with Solomon. They explored how subtle reminders of death can influence political preferences and perhaps even determine how you vote.

Performances

Yacub Addy, lecturer in music, joined Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra in a performance Oct. 11 at RPI?s celebration of its new Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center. The show sold out the 1,200-seat hall.
