Faculty-Staff Achievements

Bob Shorb, associate dean and director of student aid and family finance, was a presenter for two sessions at a regional financial aid conference Dec. 13 in Austin, Texas. His first session, titled "Ethics in the Financial Aid Profession," was co-presented with Karen Krause, director of financial aid at the University of Texas at Arlington. His second session was "Financial Aid Presentations to High School and Other Audiences." The sessions were held in conjunction with the Southwest Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (SWASFAA) annual conference.

Publications


Anita Miller, visiting assistant professor, Department of Psychology, is the author of ?The Social Neuroscience of Child and Adolescent Depression,? published in Brain and Cognition, Vol. 65, No. 1. The piece currently ranks among the journal?s most downloaded articles.

Ron Seyb, associate professor of government, was interviewed by Matt MacFarland of WNYT-Channel 13, the Albany NBC affiliate, on Thursday, Jan. 3, the day of the Iowa caucuses; and on Tuesday, Jan. 8, the day of the New Hampshire primary. Seyb provided expert commentary on the process and on possible outcomes for New York?s candidates, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton and Mayor Rudy Giuliani.
