Publications
Susan Lehr, professor of education, edited the
book
Shattering the Looking Glass: Challenge, Risk, and Controversy
in Children's Literature (Christopher-Gordon Publishers,
2008), and wrote two chapters, ?Feminist Women Writers of the 18th
Century: Those Barbarous and Didactic Women,? and ?Contemporary
Women Writers: Undercutting the Patriarchy.? Lehr has also been
invited to be a member of the inaugural Literature Advisory Board
for the U.S. Department of Education, ?Reading is Fundamental.?

Mary Lou Bates, dean of admissions and financial
aid, was interviewed regarding current admissions data and
statistics for a
Saratogian story titled ?Picking the Cream of the Crop,?
published Feb. 12 on page one.
Denise Smith, Class of 1961 Term Professor and
professor of exercise science, was a source for a Capital News 9
story titled ?Albany Fire Department on front lines of heart
health,? that aired Feb. 12.
