Baseball clinics to focus on game's fundamentals

Ron Plourde, Skidmore's varsity baseball coach, has announced two clinics for youths ages 7 to 14. The dates are Wednesday and Thursday, Jan. 14 and 15, from 6 to 8:45 p.m. at the Sports and Recreation Center.

The clinics are designed to teach the basic fundamentals of hitting, fielding, base running, catching and pitching as well as advanced skills and techniques. This is a great opportunity to tune up for the upcoming season. Each day will consist of different aspects of the aforementioned skills. Each night will end with game competition. Players should bring their own gloves and bats.

Staffing the sessions in addition to Plourde are Eric Thompson, Bob Bogdan, Scott Begalle, assistants at the College.

Registration is limited to 50 participants. Cost is $70 per person for both sessions. There will be no refunds. For details or more information, please contact Plourde at 580-5380.
