John Anzalone, professor of French and director, Master of Arts in Liberal Studies program, gave a talk titled ?Telling the Great War in Pictures,? an exploration of some of the cultural implications of World War I in France, Jan. 21 at the Vero Beach Museum of Art. The talk was part of the museum?s Distinguished Professor Lecture Series taking place this spring.

Bob Shorb, associate dean and director, Student Aid and Family Finance, gave two presentations at the Southwest Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators annual conference in Little Rock, Ark., Dec. 10 and 11, 2008. His first session, titled ?Ethics in the Financial Aid Profession,? was co-presented with Karen Krause, director of financial aid at the University of Texas at Arlington. His second session was ?Financial Aid Presentations to High School and Other Audiences.?

Tom Lewis, professor of English, is the author of ?Obama should be the new Eisenhower,? an opinion essay published Dec. 26, 2008 in The Los Angeles Times that was syndicated to several other newspapers, including Tampabay.com, The Hartford (Conn.) Courant, and the History News Network.

Linda Simon, professor and chair, Department of English, contributed an invited essay titled ?Applaud an eye for the arts? Jan. 20, 2009 to the Albany Times Union.

Christine Page, associate professor and chair, Department of Management and Business, was a source for ?While kids say they?re too old for toys, adults buying their own,? published in the Dec. 21, 2008 issue of The Sunday Gazette.

Gordon Thompson, professor of music, was a guest Jan. 16 on ?Soundcheck,? a program on WNYC, New York Public Radio, discussing his new book, Please Please Me: Sixties British Pop, Inside Out.
