Athletes hit the road to compete during spring break

Skidmore's spring athletic teams are spending this week on the road, using spring break to launch their seasons.

The softball team is 4-4 with two games to play. The team swept Norwich in two games March 11 at the Cocoa Beach Expo and also posted wins over Mount Ida College and Case Western Reserve University. Sam Crose '12 has led the way on the mound for the Thoroughbreds, picking up all four wins. Caitlin Ketcham '11 has provided the offense, drilling two home runs, including a grand slam, against Norwich.

Men?s tennis extended its winning spring record to 6-0 with a 7-2 win over Coe College March 11 in Orlando, Fla. The men have two matches left on their trip. The women's tennis team is in California for three matches.

The women's lacrosse team is 1-1 after a 14-11 win at Goucher College March 10. Kimberly Segalas '11 and Abbie Klaus '11 each scored four goals in the Goucher match. The 2-1 men's lacrosse team will close out its trip March 14 against Whittier College in San Diego.

The baseball team is 1-5 with four games to play while in Florida. ~By Sytiva Seitz
