Women's lacrosse earns triple-overtime win over Rochester

It took three overtimes, but that was what the Skidmore women's lacrosse team needed to emerge victorious over Rochester, 16-15, in an exciting match on Friday.

With a 14-14 score at the end of regulation, sophomore Lauren McCarthy (Ipwich, Mass.) tacked on a goal in the first overtime period, which was answered quickly by Rochester to force the second and third overtimes. Classmate Kimberly Segalas (Stamford, Conn.) won it for the home squad 22 seconds into the third OT to improve Skidmore?s record to 6-4 and 2-2 in league play.

The women lost a 12-6 decision to rival Union on Tuesday.

Baseball took three of four games from Union on Friday and Saturday. The team now boasts a 13-12 record with a 5-7 mark in the Liberty League.

The men?s lacrosse squad went 1-1 on the week with a 14-7 win over Union College and a 12-8 loss to Williams. Junior Matt Levesque (Duxbury, Mass.) led the Thoroughbred offense with seven goals and two assists.

Junior Lauren Dinsdale (Harrington Park, N.J.) drilled three homeruns Wednesday to lead the softball squad to two wins over Sage College, 9-8, 12-6. The Thoroughbreds are now 12-7 overall and will face Johnson State College in a home doubleheader at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Women?s tennis shut out Connecticut College, 9-0, Sunday and improved to 12-4. The women loss a tough 6-3 decision Saturday to 22 ^nd?ranked Vassar. They will play next in a match at 28th-ranked MIT April 18. ~By Sytiva Seitz
