SITI Company on campus for 17th annual residency

They're back?and better than ever! SITI Company, the acclaimed ensemble theater company under the leadership of Anne Bogart, is on the Skidmore campus this summer for the 17th year, through June 27.

The summer's agenda includes a range of public events and a new item: a performance by SITI during the third annual SaratogaArtsFest. (See details below.) The SITI ensemble of actors and theater artists this year includes David Zurak, principal dancer with the Martha Graham Dance Company, as an artist-in-residence. Zurak met the SITI Company while in residence with the Graham dancers last summer at Skidmore. This will be his second consecutive summer at Skidmore, aligned with a different performing group.

Known for generating ground-breaking theater while training artists from around the world, this year SITI Company has enrolled 61 students, including citizens of Australia, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, France, Greece, Ireland, Singapore, and Sweden.

While on campus this month, SITI Company will present the following:

? two theater demonstrations: Friday, June 26, at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the Janet Kinghorn Bernhard main theater

? two student performances: 7 p.m. Thursday, June 25, and Friday, June 26, in the Janet Kinghorn Bernhard blackbox theater

? a performance of Radio Macbeth at 8 p.m. Friday, June 12, as part of SaratogaArtsFest.

Adapted from a play by William Shakespeare, Radio Macbeth is the story of a company of actors that gathers to rehearse Macbeth one late night in the guts of an abandoned theater. They soon realize that they are not alone.

As they are drawn deeper into the Bard's most magnetic play, the ghosts that have haunted the story since its inception hover and encroach. History, ambition, fortune, fate, free will, hubris, pride, indecision, the eternal male female conflict, and madness permeate SITI Company's production, hailed by Variety as "a swift and bracing take that connects to the spellbinding force of this bullet of a play."
