Saratoga Reads seeks book nominations for year six

June 21, 2009

Summer is upon us, and it?s time to round up those great reads for the beach or for your favorite porch chair. It?s also time to think about the title you want to nominate for Saratoga Reads, as the program gears up for its sixth year. We want to hear from you!

Nominations may include novels, short stories, memoirs, non-fiction works, and biographies. The nominated books must be readily available in paperback, capable of inspiring community programming and invigorating dialogue, and must not exceed 400 pages in length.

Between June 13 and Aug. 21, nominations will be accepted via an online nomination form at www.saratogareads.org. In addition, nominations boxes will be placed at the Saratoga Springs Public Library, Borders in downtown Saratoga Springs, and Barnes & Noble in Wilton.

The ballot of top titles will be announced Oct. 1, and public voting will be open through the month of October. The winning book will be announced Nov. 6.

Saratoga Reads is a volunteer organization dedicated to creating an extensive and shared conversation for a range of age groups. The program centers on the community reading of a single book, one compelling enough to inspire lively conversation and diverse educational and cultural activities.

Saratoga Reads is a Skidmore College?Saratoga collaboration.
