Alum?s 9/11 video archive has new home

September 11, 2009

Steve Rosenbaum's CameraPlanet 9/11 Archive has been donated to the National September 11 Memorial Museum.

The archive includes nearly 500 hours of extraordinary and powerful images contributed by amateurs.  The New York Times calls it "the largest collection of raw visual data from what historians say is the best-documented catastrophe in history. About 1,700 clips from the collection have attracted more than a million hits in the three months since they were put on Google Video."

Rosenbaum is the founder of Magnify.net, a user-friendly platform that allows anyone to integrate video into a web site. The donation was covered in a Sept. 10, 2009, story in the online edition of the Times.
