Activities

Paul Arciero, associate professor of exercise science, gave at talk titled "Optimal Performance and Health for Life" March 18 as part of a workshop on adolescent brain development, nutrition, and exercise held at the Saratoga Springs High School.

Terry Diggory, professor of English,presented a paper titled"Ashbery's Three Poems and the Conceptual Moment" at a conference on "John Ashbery in Paris" March 11-13 at the University of Paris 7 Diderot.

Publications/Performances

Will Bond, artist-in-residence, Department of Theater, gave a performance of CRASH March 25-27 at Arizona State University. Bond presented the solo stage performance and gallery installation in collaboration with Deborah Hay, Judson Dance Theater; Brian H. Scott, SITI/Rude Mechanicals Company; and Marianne M. Kim, faculty member in the Division of Humanities, Arts, and Cultural Studies in ASU's New College.

Posting It: The Victorian Revolution in Letter Writing, by Catherine Golden, professor of English, has just been released in paperback. Published by the University Press of Florida, the book was released in hard cover last October.

Mark Huibregtse, professor of mathematics, has had a paper titled " Some syzygies of the generators of the ideal of a border basis scheme" accepted for publication by the journal Collectanea Mathematica.

Terry Diggory, professor of English, has a review ofAlan Marshall's American Experimental Poetry and Democratic Thought published in Wallace Stevens Journal, Vol. 34, No. 1 (Spring 2010).

Sandy Baum, professor emerita of economics, was a source for "Fifty thousand dollars," published March 28 in The Boston Globe.

Bob Carlton, Skidmore Shop, was featured in a Q&A titled "Who? What? When? Where? Why?" published March 20 in The Saratogian.

Erica Fuller, campus sustainability coordinator, was the subject of a profile titled "On a green mission" published in the April issue of Spirit of Saratoga, the magazine published by The Saratogian.

Pat Oles, associate professor of Social Work, had an opinion essay titled "Health care reform: Not quite a revolution" published March 21 in The Saratogian.

Ron Seyb, associate professor of government, was a source for "Murphy defends health-care reform vote as critics pounce," published March 23 in The Daily Gazette.
