A jam-packed, festive weekend of sports beckons

The Liberty League Rowing Championships highlight a packed home weekend of Skidmore sports. To help fans enjoy the games, the Student Athlete Advisory Council and the athletic department are sponsoring T-BRED T-GATE. There will be four cookouts with $1 menu items available throughout the weekend.
The cookouts are scheduled for Friday from 3:30 to 6 p.m. in the Sports Center parking lot; Saturday from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the softball field and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Sports Center parking lot; and Sunday from noon to 3:30 p.m. at Castle Baseball Diamond. Food is free for Skidmore students with ID and $1 per item for everyone else.
The Liberty League Rowing Championships run from 8 to 11 a.m. on Fish Creek. Races will end at the 9P Bridge at the Saratoga Lake State Boat Launch. The Skidmore women's varsity eight is ranked 12th nationally and will be competing against No. 6 St. Lawrence and No. 14 William Smith College.
The top two Liberty League baseball teams will battle it out at Castle Diamond, when Skidmore (19-7, 8-4 Liberty) hosts No. 21 Rochester (25-14, 16-0) in a pair of doubleheaders starting at 1 p.m. Saturday and noon on Sunday.
The women's lacrosse team looks to keep its playoff hopes alive against St. Lawrence at 4 p.m. Friday and versus Clarkson at 2 p.m. Saturday. The men's lacrosse team is also fighting for a playoff berth and will host Vassar at 7 p.m. Saturday.
The softball team hopes to qualify for the inaugural Liberty League softball tournament when the Thoroughbreds host Union at 1 p.m. Saturday.
The men's tennis team face nationally ranked Middlebury College on Wenger Courts at 3:30 p.m. today (Friday, April 23).
