'Health Care vs. Sick Care: The Great Health Care Debate'
Dr. Michael Quartararo will present "Health Care vs. Sick Care: The Great Health Care Debate" at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 28, in Davis Auditorium, Palamountain Hall. Free and open to the public as well as the Skidmore community, the talk is sponsored by the College's Health Promotion Office.
Quartararo will discuss the scientific basis, philosophical principles, and differences between wellness care and sickness care, and why treating disease once you are sick is a different paradigm of health care than caring for your body when you are not sick. Attendees will gain knowledge to empower them in making choices that influence and support health and well-being.
Said Jennifer Burden, director of Health Promotion, "If you are interested in learning about what you can do to promote your own health and well-being while preventing illness and injuries, I encourage you to attend this talk."
