Activities

Jordana Dym, associate professor of history, helped organize the international symposium, Declarando Independencias: Textos Fundamentales (Declaring Independences: Fundamental Texts) at the Colegio de M xico in September 2010. She also curated an exhibit of declarations of independence from throughout the Americas at Mexico's national archives (Archivo General de la Naci n) that opened with the symposium and will be on display through November.  Here is an image in which she is giving the inaugural tour (bottom image).

Jay Rogoff, lecturer in English, has had his poem "Wear" reprinted in the anthology  Pushcart Prize XXXV: Best of the Small Presses, ed. Bill Henderson, as a 2011 Pushcart Prize winner (Wainscot, NY: Pushcart Press). The new issue of The Hopkins Review, Vol. 3, No. 4, features "Tharp's Junk-Food Frank, Jones's Mostly Happy Fela!" his essay-review of two Broadway dance musicals, Twyla Tharp's Come Fly Away and Bill T. Jones's Fela!

Susan Zappen, librarian, is the author of "Managing Resources to Maximize Serials Access: The Case of the Small Liberal Arts College Library," published in The Serials Librarian, Vol. 59, No. 3, 2010.

Sandy Baum, professor emerita of economics, is the author of the 2010 Trends in College Pricing and Trends in Student Aid, published by the College Board. News stories on these reports featuring Baum as a source appeared as follows: "College tuition costs climbing again this fall," Oct. 28, the Associated Press; "As College Fees Climb, Aid Does Too," Oct. 28, The New York Times; and "Tuition, Pell Grants Rise in Tandem," Oct. 28, The Wall Street Journal.
