Skidmore students participate in citywide

Skidmore students gather for the "lip dub" shoot
Downtown Saratoga Springs was rippling with excitement on Thursday afternoon, Sept. 1, as throngs of local residents turned out to participate in a citywide "lip dub" video shoot featuring songs by the popular rock group Train. Organized by the Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce and directed by Modern Mix Marketing of Saratoga Springs, the video production is designed to showcase the city's lively downtown and the area's wide range of cultural, business, entertainment, and civic offerings.
Overall, thousands of area residents were on the scene for the shoot, which ran the length of Broadway and culminated in Congress Park with a mass gathering and lip sync finale. As one of the project's featured participants and sponsors, Skidmore had its own "station" along the route. Approximately 20 students, accompanied by College mascot Skids (or at least his head, since it was too hot for the full costume), participated in a lively routine in sync to the Train song "If It's Love."
The video will make its debut on Sept. 27 on YouTube and at a pubic screening at the Saratoga Springs City Center. For more information visit www.facebook.com/SaratogaLipDub. Click here to view a video made during the production andposted on the Times Union's web site.
