Deborah Loffredo named director of career services

Deborah Loffredo, a career-development professional who has worked for such organizations as Accenture, the Pepsi Bottling Group, and New York University's Stern School of Business, has joined Skidmore College as director of career services. 

Managing a staff of five, the Niskayuna native is responsible for overseeing the development and delivery of programs and services that help students and alumni to set career and graduate-school goals and access opportunities. She will collaborate with faculty, alumni, parents, students and administration to expand career services offerings, which will include cultivating relationships with prospective employers.

Joining NYU Stern in 2007, Loffredo directed the school's first Leadership Development Program for 80 full-time MBA students since 2010. Before that, she worked in the school's career development office, counseling alumni and part-time MBA students and managing the school's relationships with more than 100 companies that recruited Stern MBA students.

Prior to joining NYU Stern, Loffredo served as manager of campus recruiting for the Pepsi Bottling Company, hiring more than 100 young people annually from 50 institutions. Before that, she worked for two years as a human performance consultant with Accenture, the global consulting and technology outsourcing firm, and two years as a senior staffing specialist with Thermo Electron, a major provider of analytical instruments and services for various industry sectors.

Loffredo is a 1998 graduate of Union College who earned her M.B.A. from Union Graduate College in 1999. She earned her certification in career planning and development from NYU's School of Continuing and Professional Studies in 2009.
