Catherine J. Golden, professor of English, was invited to speak Dec. 5 to the Fort Orange Club in Albany about Charles Dickens's Oliver Twist to mark the 200th anniversary of Dickens's birth.  Her talk was titled "A Dickens of a Book:  Oliver Twist for All Time."

Barbara Black, professor of English, is the author of A Room of His Own: A Literary-Cultural Study of Victorian Clubland(November 2012, Ohio University Press).
