NY6 workshop on undergraduate research announced
All NY6 faculty are invited to a workshop titled "Embedding Undergraduate Research
into the Classroom and Curriculum" at Hobart and William Smith Colleges Monday and
Tuesday, June 22 and 23. Funded by a Mellon Foundation grant, the workshop will focus
on strategies to integrate research into the curriculum and classroom experiences
of students.
The workshop will be facilitated by Dr. Julio Rivera of Carthage College and Dr. Herb
Chambliss of Teleidoscope Group, leaders in the Council on Undergraduate Research.
The event begins with an afternoon session and dinner on June 22, and continues until
3 p.m. on June 23.
Faculty members (individually or in groups) are invited to this unique program to
identify new ways to engage undergraduates in research in the arts, humanities, and
social sciences. Interested faculty should contact DeWayne Lucas, HWS associate dean
