NY6 workshop on undergraduate research announced

June 2, 2015

All NY6 faculty are invited to a workshop titled "Embedding Undergraduate Research into the Classroom and Curriculum" at Hobart and William Smith Colleges Monday and Tuesday, June 22 and 23. Funded by a Mellon Foundation grant, the workshop will focus on strategies to integrate research into the curriculum and classroom experiences of students.

The workshop will be facilitated by Dr. Julio Rivera of Carthage College and Dr. Herb Chambliss of Teleidoscope Group, leaders in the Council on Undergraduate Research. The event begins with an afternoon session and dinner on June 22, and continues until 3 p.m. on June 23.

Faculty members (individually or in groups) are invited to this unique program to identify new ways to engage undergraduates in research in the arts, humanities, and social sciences. Interested faculty should contact DeWayne Lucas, HWS associate dean of faculty, at lucas@hws.edu by June 12. Hotel reservations can be made at the Ramada Geneva Lakefront (315-789-0400) or at the Microtel Inn and Suites (315-789-7890).
