Update on Skidmore in France

Classes resumed for the Skidmore in Paris students on Monday, Nov. 16, following a weekend in which the French capital and its residents coped with the effects of devastating tragedy.

Within a half hour of the report of the Nov. 13 terrorist attacks in Paris, all 15 of the students in Skidmore’s program were located. Throughout the weekend they were urged to follow safety protocols as suggested by Parisian authorities. In the days ahead, efforts will focus on ongoing needs to support the students in the short and long term.

Skidmore also has 32 alumni in France, including six in Paris. The College has reached out to all of them and continues to hear responses that they are safe and grateful to be remembered at this time.
