Looking good at 50!

April 11, 2016

In the spring of 1966, the North Broadway Jonsson Campus of Skidmore College opened, featuring the Lucy Scribner Library at its center. Although the physical building and ways of doing research have changed dramatically since the opening, Scribner Library remains at the heart of the Skidmore community.

A week-long celebration with a variety of activities is scheduled April 11 to 15 to celebrate the library's golden anniversary. Here’s a brief update.

Altered Book Contest–all week–First Floor

Come see creative entries and vote for your favorite. Entries will be on display from Monday afternoon through Friday afternoon. Voting ends at noon on Friday and the winner will be announced at the Anniversary Party (see below).

Where’s Lucy Challenge (for students)–All week

Skidmore students: Images of Lucy will be hidden throughout the library. Find one and claim your prize at the Circulation Desk!

Anniversary Card–All week–Library Lobby

Wish the library a happy anniversary by signing our giant card.

Anniversary Party–Friday, April 15, 3-4 p.m.–First Floor

Take a break and come celebrate with us. There will be cake, giveaways, and more. Help congratulate the winner of the First Annual Lucy Scribner Library Altered Book Contest!
