Pianist Gwendolyn Mok will perform on both of Skidmore’s historical fortepianos—an 18th century Walter instrument and a 19th Century Graf—on Friday, September 23, at 8 p.m. in Helen Filene Ladd Concert Hall at Zankel Music Center.

Mok will perform Sonata No. 2 in A major, Opus 2, no. 2 (1795), by Ludwig van Beethoven; An die ferne Geliebte, Op. 98, by Beethoven, transcribed for solo piano; S. 469 (1849–1850) by Franz Liszt; and Variations Serieuses (1841) by Felix Mendelssohn.

Mok will give a lecture on historical pianos on Thursday, September 22, at 11:10 a.m., also in Ladd Hall.

Tickets can be purchased online: $8 for adults, $5 for the Skidmore community, and free for students and children.
