Campaign Update: Fall 2018

December 18, 2018

Envision your future. Imagine new possibilities. Make no small plans.

These words are the driving principles behind Creating Our Future: The Campaign for Skidmore. Alumni, parents and friends have contributed more than $172 million toward the $200 million goal. Highlights from this fall include:

  • Two trustees are matching gifts made to the Center for Integrated Sciences through the $1.5 million Trustee Challenge for CIS.
  • In November, 450 donors supported Skidmore students and faculty with gifts on Giving Tuesday, an international day of charitable giving. Almost 600 volunteers reached out to classmates by phone or email and sent over 300 e-cards to encourage participation.
  • Donors have contributed $2.5 million to the Skidmore Fund to date, the second largest total at this time of year for the past decade.
  • The College celebrated the groundbreaking of the Center for Integrated Sciences and the Valentine Boathouse in October.
  • Faculty and staff kicked off their efforts to support the Campaign with a campus event Oct. 18.
  • Nearly 1,000 alumni, parents, friends, faculty and students contributed $120,000 to benefit Friends of Skidmore Athletics through the second annual “All In To Win.”
  • Students are helping, too: 150 seniors have already contributed so far!

As 2018 comes to a close, you can help create Skidmore’s future by supporting students and faculty. To learn more about the campaign and its priorities, visit www.skidmore.edu/cof or make your gift at www.skidmore.edu/give.
