2018-19 Campaign highlights

May 9, 2019

Envision your future. Imagine new possibilities. Make no small plans.

These words are the driving principles behind Creating Our Future: The Campaign for Skidmore. Alumni, parents and friends have contributed more than $185.8 million toward the $200 million goal.

We thank all alumni, parents and friends who made gifts this year as part of Creating Our Future. We appreciate the participation of every donor and, with your continued help, we look forward to meeting and exceeding our goals in the Campaign’s final year.”

co-chairs and trustees

The Campaign comes to a close on May 31, 2020.

Here are the highlights of the 2018-19 fundraising year:

  • The $185.8 million total surpassed the target of $182 million.
  • 10,775 alumni, parents and friends made gifts to Skidmore and contributed $23.2 million, including a record-setting $7.3 million for the Skidmore Fund. The efforts of 600 fundraising volunteers helped to make these accomplishments possible.

  • Reunion giving totaled $9.2 million thanks to 1,576 alumni from Reunion classes spanning 1944 to 2014. The classes set 23 new class records and six new Reunion records.

  • President Philip Glotzbach and Marie Glotzbach offered a $50,000 challenge to the classes of 2004 to 2019, members of the “Glotzbach Generation,” to encourage donor participation. If 1,700 made gifts by May 31, the Glotzbachs would make a $50,000 gift. The classes responded enthusiastically and surpassed the goal of 1,700 donors with a total of 2,105, thereby securing the gift.

  • The Class of 2019 set a new record with 95 percent of the class contributing to the Senior Gift, marking the third year of record-breaking results from our senior class.
This accomplishment is a testament to our love for Skidmore and our peers.”

Their families also contributed $555,531 to Skidmore through the Class of 2019 Annual Parents Fund, with participation from 71 percent of families.
