Write an essay addressing the following question: "What did it mean to be Greek?"

We have examined a host of sources from the Greek world--literary, historical, archaeological, etc.--that give us a window on the essence of ancient Greek society and the impact it has had on western culture. Be sure to support your argument with textual and/or visual evidence.

This is a take-home midterm. You may use any source materials--text and image--available but you may not consult with anyone. Follow the rules for primary source citation that I outlined in your paper topics hand-out. Please type your answer. You decide the length of your response. Your responses must be handed in BY YOU PERSONALLY during class on Friday, March 12th.
