Translate the following sentences into Latin.  Your sentences must be typed, double-spaced, and on a separate sheet of paper.

1)  Cicero speaks in the senate in order to save the republic.  (Use purpose clause.)
1)  Cicero in senatu dicit / loquitur ut rem publicam (con)servet.

2)  Cicero speaks in the senate in order to save the republic.  (Use ad + gerundive.)
2)  Cicero in senatu dicit / loquitur ad rem publicam (con)servandam.

3)  Cicero speaks in the senate in such a way (ita) that he saves the republic.  (Use result clause.)
3)  Cicero in senatu ita dicit / loquitur ut rem publicam (con)servet.

4)  Cicero spoke in the senate in order to save the republic.  (Use purpose clause.)
4)  Cicero in senatu dixit / locutus est ut rem publicam (con)servaret.

5)  Cicero spoke in the senate in order to save the republic.  (Use ad + gerundive.)
5)  Cicero in senatu dixit / locutus est ad rem publicam (con)servandam.

6)  Cicero spoke in the senate in such a way (ita) that he saved the republic.  (Use result clause.)
