- Alexander's
character
Taking into account the events leading up to and immediately
succeeding the battle of Gaugamela, at which Alexander defeats
the Persian king Darius and conquers his kingdom, how would
you describe Alexander's character? Was he prone to displays
of clemency, or was he ruthless and heartless? Did he understand
the value of expressions of humanity, or was he a wanton wagerer
of war whose only concerns were conquest and victory ... at
any cost?
