290: Research in Classics. 1 credit
In
this course students will explore basic research methodologies including
the use of primary sources (ancient texts and archaeological materials),
secondary sources (modern scholarship), and web-based and library-based
materials. This one-credit course, which may be added to any 200-level
ancient literature, history, art and archaeology, or civilization course,
will provide students time to develop the critical skills necessary to
conduct research successfully in classics. Prerequisite: None. Department.

291: Writing in Classics. 1 credit
In this course students will acquire the skills needed to write clearly
and effectively within the discipline of classics. Particular attention
will be paid to the development of the thesis, the construction of well-supported
arguments and the cohesion of the paper overall. Prerequisite: None. Department.
