About Us / Students
Classics students work closely with the faculty in developing a passion for antiquity. Here, nineteen students and Profs. Mechem and Arnush pose for a final photo after their ten-day odyssey to Greece. Skidmore Odyssey 2000

Classics courses vary from large lectures of twenty to thirty students to small seminars. Here, Prof. Curley reviews the finer points of Greek grammar with several of our stellar majors.

A highlight of Spring 2000 was the student production of Aristophanes' Lysistrata, a sex comedy from ancient Athens. The students were from CL223 Greek and Roman Comedy, and performed in The Surrey at the annual Classics end-of-year picnic.

In December of 2003 the students in CC222, Greek Tragedy, will stage a production of the Medusa, a play written by the members of the course.
