CL311 GRAFFITI PROJECT CHECKLIST
Is the photograph legible?
Is the text transcribed according to epigraphic conventions?
Is the text presented clearly as a piece of graffiti?
Is the text described in detail, and is proper attention given to orthography, palaeography and grammar?
Does the project carry the name of the author(s), the date and a title? If the project is collaborative, has each author made clear his or her contribution, or is the entire project the result of collaboration?
Does the analysis include social, cultural, linguistic and aesthetic aspects of the graffito?
If there are texts or images that accompany the original graffito, are they visible and accessible in the on-line presentation of the graffito so that they serve as evidence to support the analysis?
Does the analysis consider the medium (both the surface and the stylus) and the provenance of the graffito in the analysis?
Were all the analytical elements of the assignment met successfully?
Is the choice of graffito imaginative, and does it allow for a thorough analysis in social, cultural, linguistic and aesthetic terms?
Does the analysis itself demonstrate some creative thought?
I will grade the projects on
Monday morning; you may send me any changes until 9am. The assessment of your
work on this project will substitute for the quizzes, worth 10% of the final
grade.
