Reading is critical for a course of this nature. Make sure that you have done the reading assignments by the day assigned. Participation without having read the materials and given them some thought is meaningless. Therefore, as you read, I recommend you take notes (which will help you later on the papers and exams) and then summarize the essential points before you come to class. There will be pop reading quizzes.
