Marjorie West Bahlke has already celebrated her 80th birthday with a family party at her club. Joan Theobald Mitchell was able to celebrate with her but took a bad fall. We hope she is back in perfect health. Marge’s grandson is applying to Skidmore.

Kit Carson Anderson is enjoying every moment of her life in the High Plains. Her 2004 trip to Maui and this year’s excursion along the Lewis and Clark Trail were highlights—both “awesome in very different ways.” A bichon-basset is her new companion.

Jean Elton Moran had a fantastic trip on the Russian waterways. She also traveled across the US, visiting all four offspring.

Dotsie Slosson Erskine has made a perfect recovery from recent hip surgery. Her recovery from the hurricanes is still not perfect, but progress is being made. Dotsie is president of the Skidmore club in Vero Beach, FL.

Art major Marion Crouze Chase is still painting. You can view her work online at cornetart-exchange.com. In October she will be exhibiting her art in Southern Pines, NC. Marion is still an avid golfer.

Jean Domin Knapp has come through double knee-replacement surgery with flying colors. She was able to take a late summer’s trip to Ireland, enjoying the climate and slower-paced lifestyle. Her children and grandchildren are scattered in the East, some in Florida. Her granddaughter Kelly’s husband, Jeremiah, returned safely from Iraq in November.

Yvonne Scott Waples enjoyed a cruise on the Crystal Serenity from Lisbon, Portugal, to Ft. Lauderdale, FL. It featured the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, with vocalist Lynn Roberts. She loved “the old Big Band sound—awesome.”

Jessica Waldron Spacil has moved from Schenectady, NY, and St. Croix to an assisted-living residence in Seattle, WA, where daughter Stacey is director of volunteers. The residence is also nearby many other family members. Jessica, whose failing eyesight precipitated the move, reports that she is adjusting very well, although it reminds her of “going back to boarding school.”

Phyllis Mittag Hall’s granddaughter Candice is a registered nurse at Stamford Medical Center in Palo Alto, CA. Grandson Brandon is taking engineering at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, Mitchell attends Saddleback Junior College, Rachel and Sarah attend high school, and Cori, who plays the violin, is traveling to Disneyland to play with her school orchestra. Phyllis and husband Bob are busy, well, and still in love.

Our Alabama classmate and developer Mary Wood Duryea survived the 2005 hurricanes and is restoring a 1930s-era library into an office. She is also planning a 130-home subdivision.

Sally Cheney Buell spent a holiday with children and grandchildren at daughter Sue’s home. Sue was married in October. Sally is well, other than a bit of arthritis.

Nancy D’Wolf is resting up from a trip to Turkey and already planning for our 2008 reunion. Mary Bullick Pferdmenges is busy with the National Garden Club. She is a master judge, but her forté is running garden shows and keeping the books. Although traveling is not on her agenda, her four grandchildren visit her often. She thinks of “all the times we had at Skidmore—and the words of wisdom from certain profs.”
