Jeanne Battey Thomson

Ann Brooks Sheldon, who lives at Christwood Retirement Community in Covington, LA, celebrated her 90th birthday with friends, son Ross and his wife Jane, and her niece.

Last summer I was invited to a wedding on Bainbridge Island, WA. I had always wanted to take
the train across Canada, and this was a great opportunity. My son suggested I get a 30-day pass
for travel on Amtrak. After a lovely week (before and after the wedding) I headed south, reaching Las Cruces, NM, to visit an old neighbor from Connecticut for a week. I flew back to Seattle from
El Paso, then on to Vancouver and back to Toronto. Canada is so varied and beautiful. I could
have crossed it many times, but twice was all I could fit in.
