Physician Wendy Berger-Boyar’s son Matthew is a freshman at the University of Miami and a member of the Kappa Sigma Epsilon fraternity. Wendy is in touch with Peggy Huckel and husband Jack, who live near Saratoga Springs, NY.

Now that her three children are out of the house Katherine Chwals Milligan is pursuing a master’s degree in painting at the New York Studio School in Manhattan. Sarah, 24, is auditioning for acting jobs in Los Angeles; Matthew graduated from college and is a paralegal’s assistant in Manhattan; and Katie is a junior at NYU.

Last year was full of travel for Joan Carey and family. She and husband Andy visited their children in California and Nevada, exploring the Getty Museum and Hollywood with Sara, and skiing with Andy III and girlfriend Nicole near Lake Tahoe. Sara was commissioned as probationary pastor in the United Methodist Church last June. In July Joan joined Sara at Strength for the Journey, a camp near Los Angeles for people who have AIDS or are HIV-positive. In September she and husband Andy traveled to Iceland with the Dartmouth alumni travel program.

Bobbie Bromberg Pepitone’s first son graduated from college Phi Beta Kappa and is off to Russia in September to study language and culture before entering law school. Her second son earned a master’s in finance, and the youngest is a high-school student in Ft. Meyers, FL, where Bobbie still works full-time on her business of 25 years.

After many years of running the culinary arts and artful living programs for the Rhode Island School of Design, Janet Steinmeyer Egan “retired” to start an import business of textiles from southeast Asia. She recently moved into an 1810 home in Padanaram Village, MA.

Elaine Kanas is in her third year as assistant superintendent of schools at the Carmel Central School District in Putnam County, NY. She also teaches at Columbia University. Son Colin, 23, is a lieutenant in the US Army, serving in Iraq.

In Massachusetts Penny Knight has taught music at Brockton High School for 32 years. Son Jake graduated from Stanford University in June, and daughter Madi is a sophomore at the University of Michigan.
