Luis Alicea (orgosolution007@aol.com) will begin a master’s program in the department of mathematics, science, and technology at Columbia University Teachers College. He will specialize in teaching chemistry in grades 7–12. He thanks Mike Profita in Skidmore’s career services office for helping him with his graduate admissions essay.

Vanessa Raptopoulos has started her own jewelry line. You can check it out at designsbyvr.com.

Last year was great for Raymond Melecio. In April he traveled to Japan with Mariel Cedeno ’02 and had a great time touring Osaka, Kobe, Kyoto, Nara, Tokyo, and Mt. Fuji. In September he was honored to be the “man of honor” for Nina Levenduski ’99 at her wedding. If anyone is interested in seeing photos of Japan, Nina’s wedding, or both, e-mail him at skiddy2000@yahoo.com.

Alta Boover married Drake Dantzler last fall. Michelle Griffith-Aresco and Ashley Kasperzak ’01 were in the wedding party, and Anni Bruno ’01 sang for the first dance. Other Skidmore revelers included Melanie Lary, Ross Aresco, Sunil Ayyagari ’01, Liz Brambilla ’01, Samantha Bryant Day ’99, and professor Anne Turner. Alta and Drake met in graduate school at the Eastman School of Music and now live in Austin, TX. Both have just completed doctoral degrees in opera at the University of Texas.
