Lori Bucci and husband Lou adopted baby Gianna from Colombia, South America, with the help of Jamie Greenberg ’95, an immigration attorney specializing in international adoption. “Jamie helped us to realize our dream; we hope to work with him again soon to adopt a second child.” The family lives in Wenham, MA; Lori can be reached at loribucci25@comcast.net.
Loyola University professor of history Michael Ross received the Alpha Sigma Nu Jesuit Book Award last year for his work Justice of Shattered Dreams: Samuel Freeman Miller and the Supreme Court during the Civil War Era. He holds a doctorate in history from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a JD from Duke University School of Law. He was also the recipient of Loyola’s Excellence in Teaching Award in 2004.
British citizen Daniella Pereire was known as Carol Pereire at Skidmore. These days she is a holistic therapist specializing in aromatherapy and sports and body massage. She lives in Kent, England, with son Sebastian, 12.
In October Amy Scribner married Jonathan Grey in Wilton, CT—in her cousin’s backyard, “amidst the foliage.” Susan Pollack was there to help celebrate. After a honeymoon in Cabo San Lucas, Amy is rested, relaxed, and “happy to be writing again.” She plans to attend Reunion in June.
Reunion fund chair Ellen Hermann lives on the harbor in Stamford, CT. She works in the equities group at Wachovia Securities in NYC. Ellen enjoys visiting class co-historian Eve Mulholland when she returns to Saratoga. Visiting the old college town “is fun because it’s like I never left,” she says. “I still run into to people that I know.” She also thinks current Skidmore students look so young and wonders, “We never looked that young, did we?”
New class president Steve Cress is well entrenched in suburbia in Summit, NJ, where he lives with wife Jean and sons Scott, 13, and David, 10. Both boys are avid basketball and baseball players. When Steve is not coaching his sons’ sports, he works at Morgan Stanley in NYC. He and his family took a great vacation in Alaska last summer, finding the scenery and topography “absolutely amazing.”
Dave Resnick lives in Bellevue, WA, with daughters Hannah, 11, Miranda, 10, and Georgia, 7. The family also includes Beavis, a yellow lab, and Sandy, a black-haired “mutt.” Dave works for public-affairs marketing and communications firm PRR. Prior to Hurricane Katrina, he spent a long weekend in New Orleans with Dean Goering, Will Pouch, Ian Selig, Joe Grillo, Marc Travis, Nick de Janosi ’87, Gary Rosenberg ’87, Rob Kelly ’87, and psychology professor Sheldon Solomon. Dave says that in general he “tries to enjoy life and stay out of trouble.”
Jody Rose Platt and husband John Farmer welcomed first child Sabrina on July 11. Jody, who reports that her daughter has red hair and blue eyes, says, “We think she’s pretty darn cute.”
Reunion plans are well under way for our 20th in June. We have a great group of classmates committing their time to making the weekend lots of fun for all of us. So make plans with your friends to attend, line up a babysitter if necessary, or figure out if you’ll take the train, plane, or drive yourself. We want to see you up in Saratoga. Our theme is “Dare to Come Back!”
