David Ghent was promoted to director of orthopedics by Gentiva Health Services in Trumbull, CT, this past year. David, who received a master’s in physical therapy in 1998, is responsible for the sales growth and clinical quality of Gentiva’s cutting-edge program of in-home care and rehabilitation for patients following joint replacement, fractures, and other orthopedic procedures. David started at Gentiva three years ago as a staff therapist.
David Steinman lives in Washington Heights, NY. After a career in social services, during which he earned a doctorate in developmental psychology, he is now using those skills as a real-estate broker. Named to the board of The Harlem and The Heights Historical Society in 2001,
he was elected VP of the 33rd Precinct Community Council in 2004 and was just reelected for a third term. David (dsteinman@c21nyc) is working with Century 21 in NYC and would love to help any alumni looking to buy/sell/rent there.
In April Salima Millott (salimamillott@yahoo.com) gave birth to Parisa, who joins sister Nala, 3.
Life in Vermont is great, says Amy Allen Taylor. She is a full-time stay-at-home mom to Lindsey, 4, and Griffin, 1. The family enjoyed a vacation at the New Jersey shore this past summer. Amy runs in races as often as possible. Lindsey loves competing in the kids’ races that accompany most adult ones.
Rebecca Brynteson Conner is electronic records manager at the WorldBank in Washington, DC.
Alanna Caffrey Rosenberg and husband Jasper joyfully announce the arrival of son Miles on September 2; he joins sister Molly, 3.
Meredith Cohen Carroll moved to Aspen, CO, after eight years as a TV producer and booker at networks including NBC, HBO, VH1, and Oxygen. She now writes a weekly column that runs in the Aspen Times, Summit Daily News, and Santa Monica Daily Press. In 2006 and 2008 the Colorado Press Association awarded Meredith first and second place for Best Humorous Column Writing. She also works at Aspen Public Radio. Meredith married Rick Carroll in 2006 in Mamaroneck, NY. Amy Troner flew in from England for the occasion. Meredith and Rick have a daughter, Eleanor.
In August 2007 Rebecca Bernstein Rubenstein and her husband welcomed son Oliver; he joins brother Jake, 5. The family spent a year living in Sydney, Australia, courtesy of Rick’s job; it was a magical experience, says Rebecca. Best friend Allisyn Levy and husband Jason visited them there with infant son Eli. The Rubensteins’ next adventure brings them to Shanghai, China, for a year. Rebecca looks forward to experiencing a truly different culture in a place that is “the focus of the world these days.”
Maura Fortescue Devine and husband Brian welcomed son Eamon last January.
Leslie Kott Wakeford and husband Mike were thrilled to welcome twins Evelyn and Arthur on September 25. Last year the family moved from Chicago to Winston-Salem, NC, where Leslie (lkwakeford@gmail.com) is a technical-services librarian at Wake Forest University’s Law School. Mike teaches history at University of North Carolina School of the Arts.
